things that I love that I never thought I would love: 

high fashion critique hour with @aeide-thea

we both have really developed aesthetics, though theirs has, I think, more actual principles than mine and they are better able to articulate what works and doesn’t work for them. but if you had asked, say, 20-year-old me to critique this (awful) dress i would have said either “ew dresses” or “i don’t know what you’re talking about" 

but it’s really enjoyable to work out the details of liking and not liking clothes!

all i have to say about the pie i’ve been working on for 3+ hours is that it had better be good

friend that is a lot of hours for pie, please tell me about the pie, I bet it will be amazing because it is a pie and you have spent three hours on it

I admit, I’m counting the hour I spent playing Civ V while waiting for the dough to chill, but also I peeled five pounds of apples with the world’s worst peeler and had to core them with a knife, which I am bad at! 

but it’s Serious Eats’ recipe, which involves pre-cooking the apples for half an hour, so it’s a little time-consuming
