My muse is flighty and fickle. She is also quite obviously not one of the Nine. I believe that she is bitter about it: she often says things like "Of course I'm better than that Erato tramp! She just tosses her blonde hair at the judges and they let her in! She's got a voice like nails on a chalkboard."
One day she's at home, in a modest house halfway down Olympus. It's late in the afternoon and she's just waking up. This is explained by the three empty ambrosia skins by her bed. Erato knocks on the door, then turns the knob without waiting for an answer.
Aglaia looks at her and rolls over in bed. "Erato." she says. "I was sure I locked that door."
Erato ignores her. "Dear, I don't understand why you just aren't more motivated. You could really make something of yourself." Erato goes to Aglaia's bed and picks up the ambrosia skins, then straightens some trinkets on her bedside table.
"Will you stop that?" says Aglaia.
"It's just for your benefit, dear. Because I really care about your future, and I don't want to see you go to waste."
Aglaia stares at the wall.
"You don't need to be so morose, dear. You know I'm right."
Aglaia continues staring at the wall.
"Aglaia dear, are you listening to me?"
Aglaia finally snaps.
"You're goddam right I'm listening to you. And I'm sick of it! Just get out of my house, now!"
"Well, really, Aglaia! I don't know why I ever tried to help you."
Aglaia glares at her. She leaves rather hurriedly. Aglaia then tries to go back to sleep, fails, and gets some more ambrosia.
I stare at my computer screen for hours and get nothing done. While I understand the attitude, Aglaia, please help me out just a little?
