...too bad I'll be fifty miles away from it. My ideal season would be Un ballo in maschera, La clemenza di Tito, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, La fille du regiment, The Gambler, Iphégenie en Tauride, Lucia di Lammermoor, Macbeth, and War and Peace.
Realistically, that's not going to happen, but I can do some of them on winter break, and I think Fille will be during spring break. I'll even do standing room, and damn my messed up legs.
The ones I refuse to miss are Fille (because I love Donizetti and all that - and it has Florez and Dessay, who is probably my favorite current soprano), Clemenza, War and Peace, and Lucia di Lammermoor, because Dessay.
Roméo et Juliette is also exciting, because of Netrebko and Villazon, but it's probaby not worth the trip, because I don't like Gounod all that much.
Why couldn't they have had this program last year?
