Aug. 14th, 2006 08:17 pmSo, I spent a week in the country. I forgot my CD player - o horror! So bascally, fragments of things I know one phrase of got stuck in my head a lot.
The first two days were in Chamonix, at the foot of Mont Blanc, which I am very impressed by and which I will come back and climb someday. I spent a lot of time in those cable things, which I really dislike, since I can't really help comparing the thickness of the cable and the length of the drop. So, I saw lots of mountains.
Then we went to Savoie to stay with the mother of one of the parents, who lives in a castle. The village is called Les Marches, and its sister city is Stepps in Scotland. There was a lake. And then it was really cold and I only had three longsleeve shirts and I was sad. And then it rained, so I wore my rainjacket everywhere, which is annoying because I don't like rainjackets but my hair is straightened and I really don't want to deal with curls until I get home.
So, it was boring, and I played a lot of solitaire.
By the was, I vespri Sicliani is the only Verdi opera in which I don't want to kill any of the main characters in a painful manner.
