1. No matter how obscure it is, someone will either have it out or have a hold on it. See Zar und Zimmerman. Two copies, both out. Doesn't even have a Wikipedia article.
2. Things that are in the same library you want to pick them up at will take three weeks to be ready; things that are are on the other end of the island/in the Bronx/on Mars will be ready in two days.
3. Similarly, the item you're first on line for will be ready after the one for which you're third.
