Apr. 14th, 2006 09:50 pmThe night before last, I listened to La Traviata. And it made me into a wreck. However, even among my (freely flowing) tears, I could tell that there might be a gap between the wonderful drama and the music (because Verdi annoys me about 60% of the time).
So I listened to it again tonight. I thought I was going to utterly divorce the plot from the melodies. I thought I was going to be emotionless and critical.
I was wrong. Very wrong.
However, I did determine "the part that doesn't make me cry."
The first act. Well, actually, about fifteen minutes of the first act.
Yeah, I suck.
